Temporary Restraining Order in K-12 School Covid-19 Cases Does Not Apply to Colleges and Universities

As many of you are aware, on February 4, 2022, a Circuit Court Judge in Sangamon County issued a temporary restraining order (“TRO”) affecting certain K-12 school districts in Illinois with respect to those districts’ implementation of COVID-19 mitigation measures. The Judge’s order has no impact on higher education institutions, which remain obligated to follow all State issued COVID-19 mitigation measures.
