Practice Areas: Student & Special Education Law

Evan J. Deichstetter

Evan practices in the area of education law with a focus on special education and student rights. He counsels school districts regarding IDEA and Section 504, student discipline, Title IX, student records issues and policy development. He assists school districts in responding to complaints from the Office for Civil Rights, Office of the Attorney General and Illinois State Board of Education, and he represents public school districts at IEP meetings, due process hearings, mediations, student discipline hearings and residency hearings.

While attending Chicago-Kent, Evan completed the Labor and Employment law certificate. Evan was a student volunteer for Chicago-Kent’s law clinic, aiding their in-house law firm with vaccine injury cases along with employment discrimination matters. Additionally, Evan clerked for Robbins Schwartz during law school.
