Legal Assistant

Robbins Schwartz is seeking a legal assistant with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience to support assigned partners and associates. The legal assistant will be responsible for opening new matters, maintaining all active client files, maintaining internal firm files on attorneys' matters, and preparing documents accompanying court filings including certificates of service, notices of filing and notices of motion and courtesy copies.  Additionally, the legal assistant must have a proficiency in federal court e-filing and state court e-filing as well as a working knowledge of court and judge rules for litigation-related filings and deadlines.  

Other essential duties include maintaining a thorough and up to date docket, inputting attorney billable hours, completing expense reports, managing attorney calendars, and contacts, assisting in trial and/or due process hearing preparation, proofreading and formatting documents, and providing assistance to other attorneys with overflow work or by covering for other assistants.

Law Clerk

Robbins Schwartz is seeking a second or third year law student clerk to work 25-30 hours per week.  Responsibilities will include legal research, drafting research memoranda, organizing and managing litigation documents, and other miscellaneous projects.  Most work will be in the area of labor and employment law.  An ideal candidate will possess strong research, writing and organizational skills, and be enthusiastic and a self-starter.

Student & Special Education Associate Attorney

Robbins Schwartz seeks an attorney with 3-5 years of applicable experience to join our Student & Special Education practice group as an Associate. At Robbins Schwartz, our attorneys provide practical and cost effective representation to school districts and other learning institutions.

Qualified candidates will have relevant experience providing practical guidance to IEP teams, counseling clients concerning special education problems such as due process rights, identification, evaluation, placement and discipline, and responding to complaints from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and the Office of Civil Rights (OCR).

Labor & Employment Associate Attorney

Robbins Schwartz seeks an associate attorney with 3-5 years applicable experience for our Labor & Employment group. Our attorneys provide practical and cost effective service to public and private sector clients in labor and personnel matters. Must have experience counseling employers in all aspects of the employment relationship, representing clients in grievances, arbitrations and discrimination complaints, and defending clients in federal and state courts or before administrative bodies including the EEOC and the IDHR.
