Susan Glover & Rachel Lutner Conduct Pre-Conference Workshop for The Community College Conference on Legal Issues

Susan W. Glover & Rachel E. Lutner were selected to conduct the pre-conference workshop for The Community College Conference on Legal Issues held January 30, 2011 at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Their presentation addressed timely issues arising from the increasing use of technology and electronic communications by students and staff. They discussed the Supreme Court’s employee texting decision (City of Ontario v. Quon), the on- and off- campus use of social networking and other technologies in relation to student and staff discipline, regulating student speech, and managing and investigating student and staff use of college technology, including privacy concerns, threats of violence and cyberspace misconduct.
